Bonjour, après un long moment, j’ai trouvé l’un des petits revolvers de 7 mm. Il semble que ce soit la 4ème modification. Vers 1859 ? Il y a un marquage étrange à l’intérieur de chaque panneau de bois - ORNE.
Hello, At last I have one of these little guns It appears to be the 4th modification noted in the Eugene Cabriel Lefaucheux book. Perhaps made in 1859? Inside each grip panel is a stamping of ORNE, maybe someone who made grips?
Oui le LF 6398 est une 4ème modification parce que la porte de chargement à un double lèvre mais le barillet n’a pas d’arrêtoirs.
Fabrication vers l’automne 1859.
Le mot “ORNE” sur les plaquettes reste un énigme, c’est très probablement le fabricant.
On retrouve ce marquage aussi sur le LF1346 - LF 1348 et le LF 1366.
Il me manque juste le numéro d’assemblage pour être complet.
Yes the LF 6398 is a 4th modification because the loading door has a double lip but the cylinder has no retainers.

The word “ORNE” on the plates remains an enigma, it is most likely the manufacturer.
This marking is also found on the LF1346 - LF 1348 and the LF 1366.

Cette 4 ème modification va du LF 246x au LF 712x, la fin de la 4 ème et le début de la 5ème modification est un peu chaotique, parce que ont trouve pas mal de barillet lisse (4ème) et de barillet avec arrêtoirs (5ème) mélangé.

This 4th modification goes from LF 246x till LF 712x, the end of the 4th and the beginning of the 5th modification is a little chaotic, because we find a lot of smooth cylinders (4th) mixt-up with cylinders with retainers (5th).
