This large 8 ga Pinfire rifle is stamped : G.L.RASCH. HOFBUCHSENMACHER IN BRAUNSCHWEIG.
Brunswick is in Lower Saxony Germany.
I show company history from “German Hunting Guns” and later 1883 ads. (from the internet).
Proofs are Belgian ELG in oval.
The barrel is octagonal at the breech and 31mm (1. 25") at the muzzle.
The barrel alone weighs 3.063kg (6lb 12oz) and total weight is 5.330kg (11lb 12oz).
Barrel is 780mm (2ft 6.75") and total length is 1220mm (4ft).
The chamber seems to be 62mm long or 2.5".
The barrel has a fixed sight and three fold up sights.
The trigger can be set by pulling the rear trigger and using the front hair trigger or can be used normally by using the front trigger only. The stock has a storage plate.
The rifle has two numbers. 6895 and 7436. 7436 is also under the lever so possibly the number.
The front sling swivel is missing and the red spacer is possibly a later replacement?
