Hello. My father recently deseased. He left me a lefaucheux pistol. I’d like to salute him when we lay him to rest. My question is; would these old pinfirecartridges still fire?
Mvg. Mikey
If the ammo was stored properly over the past 150 years, it will fire. But, this is very uncertain. More likely they are all duds and hang-fires. Of course, you are using expensive and hard to find antique ammunition. If you must fire your the old pistol, it’s possible to make some blanks using .32 gage shotgun shells. Better yet, get some other black powder pistol, like a cap and ball revolver and fire that instead.
