Here we have to do with a 12 mm triple action, the LF 2959.
The rarity of a revolver lies in having an octagonal barrel. This type of gun is mainly found on the M1862 revolvers delivered to the Norwegian army. The LF 2959 is indeed located in the production series of M1862 for the Norwegian army but with a round barrel. The first Norwegian octagonal barrel M1862 observed is later with the LF3202 with only 200 copies made.
